Who we are looking for:
We are recruiting for a Senior Support Worker who has the skills and ability to lead a team, provide training to new staff, and assist our Team Leaders and Care Managers in delivering safe and effective care to the individuals we support.
JOB SUMMARY
To provide care in accordance with current best practices, according to policy and procedures, agreed standards, legislative requirements, and relevant regulations under the direction of the Team Leader and Care Manager. To supervise the care services within Saracen Care and ensure that standards are maintained and exceeded. The Senior will be based in the community and cover services and locations as directed by the Rota and Management Team.
LOCATION
* At services in Swindon
You may be required to work from other locations at the discretion of the company and with appropriate notice.
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
* Provide user-led care in line with assessed needs of PWS
* Work within the boundaries of company policies and procedures to ensure high quality, consistent care ensuring the health & welfare of PWS and colleagues
* Assist with personal care (may include assistance with washing, toileting, dressing, eating)
* Assist with domestic duties & household management (may include assistance with cleaning, cooking, washing)
* Assist with any PWS financial responsibilities as set out by the Care Management Team
* Ensure that efficient and effective medication systems are in place and that all medication is current, correct, and ordered on time
* Provide general support to PWS as part of a caring team (may include escorting duties and liaison with other services and support organisations)
* Contribute towards the assessment and review of PWS needs, including support plan reviews
* Ensure a good standard of recording
* Lead by example, within a team of support workers
* Play a major role in the induction of new staff
* Resolve day-to-day shift events in a positive and consistent way
* Attend meetings and reviews, document and feedback information to the Care Management Team
* Attend and partake in training and other development activities
* Cover shifts where nobody else is available
* Enforce and adhere to guidelines, policies & procedures and professional conduct within the support worker team
* Any other such duties as may be reasonably required from time-to-time to deliver excellent service
* Saracen Care is committed to providing quality services to the PWS and all Senior Support Workers should have knowledge of CQC Guidance pertinent to their job role.
