About Our Opportunity
Are you looking for a sustainable career? Where no two days are the same? Whilst working for an ethical employer who truly makes a difference to our planet?
The automotive industry is going through a period of huge change, as we all continue along the road to net-zero and electric vehicles replace combustion engines. Our ELV teams are vital to ensuring we recover, recycle, reuse and repurpose as many of the materials as possible from the inevitable boom of end-of-life combustion engine cars coming our way, putting them back into the supply chain so they can become the electric vehicles of the future – saving carbon, stopping the need for mining and protecting our planet.
By playing a key part in our bold commitment to transform our business into a provider of net zero carbon sustainable materials by 2040. Truly you will be making the world a better place to live for the next generation.
This is a fantastic opportunity for the right person covering the Darlington and North East EMR sites. As Area ELV Supervisor at EMR, you’ll be vital in supporting the ELV teams within your area to ensure that vehicles are processed and depolluted efficiently, and that team goals and targets are met.
What You Will Be Doing
* A true hands-on position, you’ll need to get stuck in and get some oil under your fingernails. If you know your way around an engine, understanding what each component is made from and what that could be transformed into, you can identify opportunities to save the most possible carbon through reuse and repurposing as well as recycling.
* Travel as required to sites within your area to support the ELV teams with processing and depolluting vehicles to hit company targets.
* Work seamlessly with ELV Teams within your Area to ensure ELV production targets are met.
* Ensures that the ELV depollution process is carried out correctly and efficiently as per the ELV depollution SOP.
* Working side-by-side with the ELV Area Manager to transform your region into the most effective ELV recycling operation possible.
* Providing day to day support for the ELV Area Manager, recommending best-practice procedures for safety, sustainability and efficiency, highlighting any issues and potential challenges for the ELV Team.
* Able to contribute ideas and recommendations to ELV Area Strategy to grow ELV volumes.
* Will adopt a continuous improvement approach, always seeking to improve their department.
* Will maintain tight control of waste products produced within the ELV function (i.e. Waste oils, tyres etc.).
* Ensures that all paperwork is filled in accurately and filed correctly.
* Will be a champion of health and safety for the ELV team, promoting strong health and safety practices throughout their Area.
* Ensures that any SHEQ concerns are directly reported to the site Operations Manager and ELV Area Manager.
Plus more, you won’t get bored!
About You
We don’t believe in shutting doors on potential, so we don’t ask over the odds for qualifications or experience. We can teach you everything you need to know. What we can’t teach is:
* Mechanical and mathematical competence
* The competitive spirit that will drive your teams to want to top the EMR ELV leaderboard every month
* Outside-the-box problem solving
* Safety excellence – for you and the ELV team
If you have these qualities, and a 3.5mt Forklift license, you’re already well on your way to being an incredible Area ELV Lead. We’ll happily fill in the gaps by developing your knowledge, skills and expertise on the job. And we won’t stop training you once you’ve reached peak Area Lead status, because when you work for a global leader in sustainable materials, there is no limit to your career progression.
