Abbas Autos Ltd is expanding its operations with a new venture specializing in truck rental and leasing services for short-term and medium-term hires. Based in Peterborough, this new division will provide flexible and reliable truck rental solutions to businesses and individuals.
To lead this exciting new business, we are looking for an experienced Truck Hire Operations Manager who can operate independently, manage daily operations, and drive business growth. This is a fantastic opportunity to build and develop a new venture within an established and reputable company.
Role Overview
As the Truck Hire Operations Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the entire rental operation, ensuring smooth day-to-day management, maintaining customer relationships, and optimizing fleet utilization. This role requires a self-motivated individual with strong industry experience who can work independently.
Key Responsibilities:
* Business Operations: Manage and oversee the daily operations of the truck rental business, including vehicle bookings, maintenance schedules, and customer service.
* Customer Management: Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, handling inquiries, bookings, and rental agreements.
* Fleet Management: Ensure the rental fleet is well-maintained, roadworthy, and compliant with all legal and safety regulations.
* Sales & Business Growth: Identify market opportunities, attract new clients, and develop strategies to grow the business.
* Compliance & Documentation: Handle contracts, rental agreements, insurance, and regulatory compliance.
* Financial Management: Monitor rental income, expenses, and profitability, ensuring efficient cost management.
* Staff Coordination: As the business grows, oversee and coordinate additional staff to support operations.
Requirements:
* Proven experience in the truck rental, leasing, or commercial vehicle hire industry (minimum of 3-5 years).
* Strong understanding of fleet management, vehicle maintenance, and rental agreements.
* Excellent leadership and organizational skills, with the ability to work independently and take initiative.
* Strong business acumen, sales experience, and customer relationship management skills.
* Knowledge of UK transport regulations, insurance requirements, and compliance standards.
* Proficiency in using rental management software and general office tools (Microsoft Office, CRM, etc.).
* Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
* A valid UK driving license (HGV license preferred but not mandatory).
Work Schedule:
* Monday – Friday (Full Days) + Saturday (Half Day) - Flexibility required based on business needs.
