Job Description
Purpose
The networks support team provides services to a wide range of customers across all sectors. Each team member can support multiple customers.
Key Responsibilities
* Action, update and resolve logged support incidents in line with SLA commitments.
* Carry out regular system checks within required timescale.
* Undertake appropriate system housekeeping activities.
* Participate in a rota for out-of-hours support.
* Deploy approved system changes.
* Produce and update support documentation.
* Produce regular reports.
* Management and administration of backup systems
* Provide support for Business Continuity activities
Essential Skills & Experience (Technical)
1. In depth knowledge and extensive experience in the design, management, and support networks in customer Data Centres or Cloud environments
2. Extensive experience and knowledge of network security devices and configuration (Cisco ASA, CheckPoint, Palo Alto, Fortinet or similar)
3. In-depth knowledge of VPN technologies (Cisco, CheckPoint, Palo Alto)
4. Extensive knowledge of network Switches (Meraki, Cisco, Aruba)
5. Core network skills to include, routing (OSPF, BGP, MPLS, etc), switching (VLANS, STP, Stacking, etc)
6. Strong understanding of corporate LAN and WAN data networks
