We are looking for a suitably qualified PWP with experience of working with adults in a mental health setting to join our in-reach team at HMP Buckley Hall.
You will be working as part of our passionate multi-disciplinary team and identify and deliver appropriate therapies to the population of the prison. You will understand the stepped care model and use this to sign-post, refer and discharge to other agencies and teams.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will be responsible for providing psychological wellbeing practitioner services to adult, male service users who are in custody within HMP Buckley Hall. This will be delivered individually and via groups. The IMHT comprises of multi-disciplinary professionals, including Mental health Nurses, a Psychiatrist, a Psychologist, an assistant psychologist, and health care support workers, all providing mental health support to males across the prison estate. The post holder would be expected to work with a caseload of clients providing detailed assessments and psychological therapy, often spanning several months. As a Senior Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner, the role may also incorporate the clinical supervision and support of PWP staff and/or health and well-being staff and will work closely with the practitioner psychologist/s and/or high intensity therapists in the service. The post holder will be expected to contribute to training on a multi-disciplinary basis. The post holder will participate in clinical audit and service development within the remit of the post.
The post holder will work autonomously within professional guidelines and the overall framework of the service's policies and procedures. The post holder will receive clinical supervision in line with current trust policy by an appropriate registered health professional likely a high intensity therapist/clinical psychologist.

Essential
* Have completed a British Psychological Society accredited IAPT/Psychological Wellbeing Training (PWP)
* Have completed supervision training on an IAPT Accredited PWP Supervision course.
Desirable
* Evidence of continuous practice development related to delivering psychosocial interventions to both individuals and groups.
Experience
Essential
* Experience of working in statutory and / or non-statutory Mental Health
Desirable
* Experience of providing CPD training to other professionals within multi-disciplinary teams around the PWP role or low intensity CBT Skills.
Knowledge
Essential
* Extensive knowledge of Mental Health and Social Care.
* Be able to provide effective liaison with colleagues in the wider system, as well as other statutory / non-statutory services relevant to the client and their ongoing needs. Contribute when required, to team research and development activities.
Desirable
* Knowledge of specialist needs of service users within the prison environment and criminal justice systems.
* Knowledge of policy and legislation in relation to service specialism and of relevant mental health legislation.
