An opportunity has arisen for a Nurse, Social Worker or Occupational Therapist to join the Blackburn & Darwen Community Mental Health Team. You must be a motivated individual committed to promoting recovery and well-being for our service users as part of our multi disciplinary team. Excellent communication skills are essential for the role. Previous experience of Community Mental Health work is desirable.

With a strong emphasis on multi disciplinary working and the principles laid out on the Recovery Model, you will need to be an innovative thinker and be able to form effective relationships.
You must be a registered mental health practitioner, with excellent leadership and clinical skills.
You must have some post qualification experience in clinical work with service users experiencing a range of mental health problems
You need to be able to work as part of a multidisciplinary team and have experience of assessing, planning and implementing and reviewing care needs.
You will also need to have a working knowledge of the care programme approach (CPA), Dialog+, risk assessment and management, and the ability to explore issues relating to the impact of health and social care needs on mental health and well-being.
You will be a mental health (MH) practitioner working within a multidisciplinary team and carry out a diverse range of duties.
As a Band 6 MH practitioner within the team you will be regularly supported and supervised by the clinical lead/team leader, you will be encouraged to take personal responsibility for clinical supervision and your continued professional development plan.
You will be required to undertake the administration of medications and safe storage of same.
You will actively promote teamwork, respect, integrity, accountability, excellence and compassion within the clinical team in accordance with the Trust values and Code of Conduct. You are required to maintain links with your professional body and provide evidence for the revalidation process.
You will provide support to the nurse leadership within the multidisciplinary team and ensure the effective assessment, formulation, planning and monitoring of care given to service users.
You will exercise professional accountability and responsibility using skills, knowledge and expertise in changing environments, across clinical boundaries and in unfamiliar situations as outlined within the NMC Code of Professional Conduct.
You may be required to take on tasks that require you to operate electronic staffing record systems such as Appraisals/supervision
*The Welcome Bonus is only available to candidates who are not currently employed (or who have not been employed in the last 12 months) by any NHS provider Trust in the Lancashire & South Cumbria (LSC) Integrated Care System (ICS) in a like-for-like role or core profession. For example, a Band 6 Occupational Therapist / Social Worker / Mental Health Nurse at another Trust in the LSC ICS would not be eligible for the bonus if moving to a Band 6 Occupational Therapist / Social Worker / Mental Health Nurse role at LSCFT or in a role such as Mental Health Practitioner Role that requires the same profession.

Bank only workers for Lancashire and South Cumbria NHS Foundation Trust are eligible for the scheme if they have not held a substantive role in Lancashire & South Cumbria Integrated Care System in the last 12 months (subject to all other terms and conditions being met). These incentives are subject to recovery clauses within the first 6 months of employment. This bonus is applicable from 1st July 2024 – 9th February 2025.
The £7k Welcome Bonus package is designed to attract and retain the very best staff in post. The amount a new starter would receive is shown in the Welcome Bonus Payment Schedule below:
• £3,000 after 2 months of employment (counted from start date with LSCFT)
• £2,000 after 12 months
• £2,000 after 24 months
