Right now, we need to strengthen our R&D team in Milton Keynes with an Embedded DSP engineer who will focus on system functionality, optimisation and innovation.
What you’ll do:
As an Embedded Engineer at Marshall, you will be navigating through the lower layers of our systems and the intricacies of controlling the hardware to bring the true Rock’n’Roll experience. Playing a key role in developing, implementing, and supporting digital features in products for musicians, from control to interfacing, to signal processing and effects. You will have the opportunity to share your art of writing drivers connecting crucial components of the system, master the nuances of seamless connectivity, and navigate through layers of complexity to bring up simplicity.
Roles & Responsibilities:
* Developing and testing embedded firmware for guitar-related projects
* Design and implementation of audio processing features for inclusion in projects
* Code review and documentation
* Proof of Concept (PoC) work
* Support existing products by contributing to the investigation and resolution of firmware issues
* Involvement in the selection of appropriate chipsets for new designs
* Implement and follow good working practices for software development
* Work with other team members and possibly external partners to ensure the right product is delivered
Who we’re looking for:
As an Embedded Engineer, you have effective communication, a sharp problem-solving ability, and a strong sense of team collaboration. It's also important to have the ability to approach challenges with creative and innovative solutions and be ready to adapt to new technologies in a fast-paced environment.
You probably have the following experiences & skills:
* 4+ years experience in a role as a DSP/Embedded developer (preferably in the MI industry/guitar-related products)
* Experience in implementing digital signal processing for musical applications
* Strong coding skills (C, C++, assembly)
* Experience of working with real-time operating systems (RTOS)
* Understanding of MCU architecture and various peripherals (Preferably ADC, DAC, I2C, UART, DMA, HW Timers, NVIC, etc.)
* Familiarity with Bluetooth, BLE, and WiFi technologies
* Familiarity in tools such as Git, Make, CMake, and GCC toolchain
