This post supports the Head of Pharmacy Technical Services to deliver high quality aseptically prepared medicines in line with GMP. The successful candidate will lead a team of approximately 22 staff members.
The Pharmacy Technical Services Unit (PTSU) has a friendly team of highly skilled staff with varying experience. PTSU provides chemotherapy, TPN, CIVAS, and pain intrathecal doses under Section 10 exemption. We also provide radiopharmaceutical kits and over labelling services under MS license. With the imminent installation of new isolators, we will be looking to participate in providing genomic medicine in the near future.
Main duties of the job
1. Manage Pharmacy Technical Services for the Royal Cornwall Hospitals NHS Trust.
2. Manage Pharmacy Technical Services provided to PTSU from Trust departments and external organisations covered in Service Level/Technical Agreements.
3. Manage Technical Services resources including staff and equipment.
4. Participate in QAAPS internal Audits to ensure they meet legal requirements and follow best practice standards.
5. Manage the rotas for allocated pharmacy staff to ensure there is adequate cover in all areas of PTSU by working closely with other section leads.
6. Be a member of the PTSU Senior Management Team.
