Are you passionate about conserving nature, restoring ecosystems, and working in one of the UK’s most breathtaking landscapes? Northumberland National Park Authority (NNPA) is looking for an enthusiastic and knowledgeable Nature Recovery Ranger to play a key role in protecting and enhancing some of the most treasured habitats in the country.
The Greenlee and Stonefolds landholdings, nestled near Hadrian’s Wall, are of exceptional ecological and historical significance. This 195-hectare site includes The Lough, the largest natural body of open water in Northumberland, which is designated as a National Nature Reserve, a Special Area of Conservation (SAC), and a Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI). Together with the surrounding Frontiers of the Roman Empire UNESCO World Heritage Site, this location is steeped in history and natural beauty.
As the Nature Recovery Ranger, you’ll be at the heart of ambitious conservation initiatives such as the Hadrian’s Wall Wetlands Landscape Recovery Project. These projects aim to work collaboratively with partners and neighbouring land managers to deliver landscape-scale nature recovery, making a lasting impact on biodiversity and the environment.
With the value of national parks having been highlighted to be more relevant than ever in helping address some of the greatest challenges facing society, from action on climate change and recovering nature and supporting people’s health and well-being, it’s a great time to join our ambitious organisation making a real impact.
