Location: Milton Keynes, Buckinghamshire
To oversee the smooth running of the retail facing workshop.
1. Jointly manage repairs in and out, with a focus on ensuring prompt and comprehensive customer communication.
2. Manage the workshop diary to maximise productivity.
3. Carry out repair and servicing work efficiently and to current high standards.
4. Assist the retail manager to ensure stock levels of workshop spares are maintained.
5. Jointly responsible for opening the store.
To ensure customer communication is maintained to the highest possible level.
1. Use systems already in place to make sure work undertaken is recorded and communicated to customers.
To identify and improve ways of working with the aim of making the repair and service process as efficient and profitable as possible.
1. Use and update operating procedures as and when problems arise, and find ways to avoid recurring problems.
2. Identify time-heavy jobs and find ways to charge for time appropriately or to shorten time spent on similar work.
To maintain the retail workshop space to current high standards.
1. Maintain a fresh and presentable workshop and retail space, requiring an eye for detail and cleanliness.
Skills/Experience Required
You will need either the relevant Cytech or equivalent qualifications or demonstrable mechanical experience.
Previous experience within the cycle industry at a retail level is essential.
Most of all, you will need to be proactive and display a desire to learn and develop within the business.
HOURS
A four-day working week, with a three-day weekend.
Weekday hours: Weds to Fri 7.45am to 6pm, Saturday 8.45am to 6pm.
Potential to switch 1 Saturday per month to Tuesday.
Base salary of £26k to £28k plus a bonus of 5% of previous month's profit.
