Maintenance Operative
Based at: Rotherham
Hours: 37 hours per week
£27,400 to £30,000 per annum depending upon experience and qualifications
Although a trade would be an advantage it is not crucial to the role, we are specifically looking for an Operative with good all round skills that can be proven through past employment and experiences.

Main Purpose
To maintain the properties within the RUSH House portfolio to a high standard. To carry out planned, reactive and emergency repairs as and when required within agreed timescales. Build and nurture relationships with internal and external customers.
Specific Tasks & Responsibilities
* Work independently on task lists
* Maintenance and repair work for buildings and facilities
* Completing joinery, such as but not limited to hanging doors
* Basic plumbing tasks
* Assist and liaise with external contractors and others as necessary
* Undertake emergency jobs (e.g. reacting to the impact of weather conditions on buildings and grounds)
* Maintenance of buildings and offices to comply with current legislation as per guidance from the Property Manager
* To understand and comply with Health and Safety regulations as per guidance from the Property Manager
* Responsible for own personal safety whilst adhering to Policies and Procedures
* Highlight any safeguarding concerns to the Management Team
* Attend all relevant training courses and meetings as required
* Attend supervision meetings
* Perform any other duties as requested or required to further the aims of the organisation and as directed by the Management Team
Person Specification
* Able to work on your own initiative as well as part of a team
* You will demonstrate good aptitude for ‘hands on’ work and the use of hand tools
* Good communication skills with the ability to follow instructions
* You have a positive ‘can do’ attitude, with adaptability to change and varying work priorities
* You will have excellent reliability & flexibility as a team member, committed to excellent levels of punctuality and attendance
* A full driving licence and the use of a reliable vehicle is essential
* An awareness of Health & Safety working practices
* Demonstrate an awareness and understanding of the issues faced by the Young people we support
