Teaching Personnel is looking to appoint dedicated SEN Tutors to provide one-to-one tuition for pupils with Special Educational Needs across Nottinghamshire. The role involves supporting children and young people who may be out of mainstream education or require additional, individualised support due to a range of learning needs including autism (ASC), ADHD, SEMH, or learning difficulties.
Responsibilities
* Deliver personalised learning plans across core subjects, with a focus on engagement and accessibility.
* Support pupils with a wide range of SEN, adapting teaching style and pace accordingly.
* Develop a trusting and consistent relationship to support emotional regulation and self-confidence.
* Liaise with external professionals, families and Teaching Personnel consultants to review and support progress.
Qualifications
* Experience working with children or young people with special educational needs (in schools, care, tutoring, or alternative provision).
* Strong communication skills and the ability to build rapport with learners.
* A flexible and empathetic approach to teaching.
* An enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply for one).
* QTS/QTLS is desirable but not essential—applications also welcome from youth workers, support staff, and experienced tutors.
