We are looking for an enthusiastic individual to join the HHSCP Primary Care Pharmacy Team in the Inverness Central Hub as a Pharmacy Support Worker. The successful candidate will train towards obtaining an SVQ Pharmacy Service Level II qualification.
You will work alongside pharmacists and pharmacy technicians supporting the delivery of pharmacy services to ensure the safe and effective use of medicines. Day-to-day responsibilities include:
1. Prescription management
2. Dealing with medicines related queries
3. Communication with community pharmacies and GP practices
4. Collecting data and information for audit
Applicants must be able to work carefully, accurately and quickly in a busy environment and will be expected to work independently within the post although all duties will be carried out under the supervision of a Pharmacy Technician or Pharmacist and following Standard Operating Procedures. Previous experience of working in a pharmacy or healthcare setting is desirable but not essential as full training will be provided. You should have excellent communication and organisational skills and good IT skills.

NHS Scotland is reducing their full time working week from 37.5 to 37 hours per week from 1 April 2024 but with no change in pay. This reduction will also be applied pro rata for part time staff. This advert and any subsequent offer/contract of employment therefore reflects the new working hours. However, as not all service areas will be able to adopt the 37 hour working week immediately from 1 April 2024, you may be required to work up to an additional 30 minutes per week for a temporary period for which you would be paid until the service you are working in changes rosters or working patterns to accommodate the new reduced working week.
