Park Recruit are delighted to be working exclusively with our client, a highly reputable and growing manufacturing client in Mid Ulster, in the appointment of a Head of Electrical Design to join their team. The Head of Electrical Design will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of electrical design, ensuring projects are delivered on time, to specification, and in line with industry standards. This individual will also mentor and guide a team of design engineers to ensure the highest levels of technical competence and efficiency. Key Responsibilities: Lead and manage a team of electrical design engineers, providing mentorship, training, and technical support. Delegate design tasks effectively while maintaining oversight to ensure project quality and timely delivery. Oversee and participate in the design of electrical products, ensuring that all designs meet client specifications, industry standards, and regulatory requirements. Lead the use of EPLAN 3D design software in the production of electrical drawings, schematics, and 3D models. Ensure designs incorporate safety, reliability, and efficiency principle Work closely with project managers and other departments (e.g., production, procurement) to align design outputs with project timelines and deliverables. Manage the design process from concept through to final design approval and handover for production. Ensure all designs comply with relevant standards, including IEC regulations and company quality standards. Drive continuous improvement processes to enhance design quality, reduce errors, and improve overall efficiency. Key Qualifications: Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field. Minimum of 7 years of experience in electrical design, with a strong background in switchgear and control panel design. Proficiency in EPLAN 3D design software is essential. Experience leading a team of design engineers, with a proven track record of managing complex electrical design projects. Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and guide a technical team. In-depth knowledge of electrical systems, switchgear design, and industry standards (e.g., IEC, BS). Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure to meet tight deadlines. Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across departments and with clients. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
