Orkla Foods UK PLC is based close to J39 of the M1, Calder Park, Wakefield. We are part of a multi-billion pound turnover company based in Oslo and supply food ingredients to manufacturers throughout the UK.
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a reliable, office based, versatile and self-motivated team member to join our small and friendly team, working 5 days per week (37.5 hours). An option of 4 days per week would be considered but the candidate must have the flexibility to work more hours as and when the business demands. The role of Operation Managers Assistant is to support the UK Operations Manager with daily operational procedures to ensure the smooth flow of the business operation - one thing for sure is that one day is never the same as the day before!
Main Duties To Include:
1. Organising and prioritising workload, with the ability to adapt to many different situations on a daily basis and respond to changing situations throughout the day.
2. Communicating in a friendly & diplomatic manner to both customers and colleagues.
3. Acknowledgement & processing of sales orders, including booking in deliveries with customers/delivery sites.
4. Assisting in forecasting & placing purchase orders with suppliers.
5. Negotiating and co-ordinating logistics companies to ensure smooth delivery of orders.
6. Stock control on in-house systems (In-house training to be provided).
7. Up-dating internal systems, conveying information effectively and efficiently.
8. Providing support to other key team members as and when required.
9. Having enthusiasm, the ability to learn from suggestions and change practices accordingly.
