Job Description
Key Responsibilities
* Manage backhaul performance of existing site transport teams & grow relationships
* Work with planning & central Team to ensure full delivery / debrief compliance
* Attend daily planning and debrief calls
* Chair network collaboration calls
* Lead weekly new business calls with group planning
* Manage haulier / supplier rate negotiations and transition to lane rates, provide all costing models for sign off
* Grow strategic partners
* Onboard new Supplier/ hauliers in line with group transport targets
* Manage site collection / delivery performance / compliance issues
* Work with Heads of Transport to develop site pipeline and identify Wincanton fleet opportunities
* Provide weekly summary reports and monthly/quarterly forecasts to National Backhaul Manager
* Build relationships with customer team & become key point of contact for Regional Wincanton Backhaul team
* Manage their clerical team ensuring smooth /seamless service and collation of all data streams for finance, to be delivered on time for all business reviews
* Work with Heads of Transport and National Backhaul Manager to resource peak planning demands
* Regular national travel with flexibility to stay away from home when required

* Knowledge of Routing / Optimisation software and the applications available

* Understanding of Key Unit cost drivers to maximise profitability
* Understanding of haulage costs and the market place
* Ability to communicate at all levels
