Our mission is to create a welcoming, inclusive space that brings together people from all Jewish backgrounds to connect, celebrate, and grow as a community. Our state-of-the-art community centre is designed to serve a wide range of needs, offering facilities for residential living, events and social programming, Kosher dining, early years education, health and wellbeing and co-working. Our newly built Synagogue and Mikveh, operated by the Brighton and Hove Hebrew Congregation (BHHC) is open daily for services and on Shabbat and Festivals. About the Role We are looking for an inspirational CEO to lead BNJC through its next phase of growth. This role is ideal for a dynamic, strategic leader who can balance operational management with a strong commercial acumen. Reporting to the Chair of the Board of Trustees, you will be responsible for driving BNJC’s mission, overseeing internal operations, and ensuring financial resilience. In addition to managing various business areas, you’ll champion BNJC’s values and commitment to an outstanding customer and community experience. Key Responsibilities: Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement BNJC’s strategic vision, aligning all activities with organisational goals. Operational Oversight: Lead day-to-day operations, working with Heads of Business to optimise processes and efficiency. Team and Culture Development: Foster a collaborative work environment, emphasising staff wellbeing and professional development. Governance and Compliance: Ensure adherence to legal standards, policies, and governance structures. Financial Management: Oversee budget planning and financial performance, working closely with the Board. Fundraising and Partnerships: Working with the Chair, cultivate relationships with donors, partners, and stakeholders, enhancing BNJC’s reach and resources. Community Engagement: Act as a public ambassador for BNJC, engaging with the Jewish community locally, nationally, and internationally. About You: The ideal candidate will bring senior leadership experience within a multi-purpose organisation, with a proven ability to manage diverse functions and teams.
