Role Overview:
In this role as Junior Lifestyle Buyer, you will be instrumental in expanding Abbott Lyon’s product portfolio by introducing a new accessories category, enabling AL to expand it's goal to be a gifting destination with a luxury feel and a recognisable handwriting. You’ll oversee the end-to-end process of sourcing and launching new lifestyle products, from identifying key trends to managing supplier relationships, ensuring products meet both quality standards and market demand. Your strategic insight will guide decisions that shape the product assortment, pricing, and merchandising, with the goal of building a competitive and appealing lifestyle accessories line. This is a unique opportunity to directly influence brand diversification and drive category growth.
Key Responsibilities:
* Develop and execute buying strategies for lifestyle accessories product launches: Ensuring alignment with the brand’s goals and customer demands. This includes identifying gaps in the market and selecting product ranges that cater to emerging trends and consumer preferences.
* Manage supplier relationships and negotiate terms to ensure quality and profitability: Build and maintain strong partnerships with suppliers, negotiating favourable terms to optimise product quality while ensuring competitive pricing and profitability. This involves evaluating supplier performance, ensuring compliance with standards, and fostering long-term relationships.
* Collaborate with design, marketing, and logistics teams to align on product vision and timelines: Work cross-functionally with internal teams to ensure seamless integration of design vision, marketing strategies, and logistics planning. This ensures that product launches are aligned with the overall brand strategy and delivered on time.
* Conduct market research to identify emerging trends and customer preferences: Regularly analyse the market to spot new trends, track competitor activities, and gather insights on consumer behaviour to inform product selection and ensure the lifestyle accessories line remains relevant and appealing to target audiences.
* Ensure timely product launches that meet quality and cost expectations: Oversee the entire product launch process, from sourcing to final delivery, ensuring that products meet the highest standards for both quality and cost-efficiency. This involves meticulous planning and coordination to meet deadlines and budgetary constraints.
* Monitor sales performance, adjust strategies, and optimise product mix accordingly: Continuously track the performance of launched products, using data insights to refine buying strategies, optimize the product assortment, and adapt to changing market conditions to maximise sales and profitability.
Requirements:
* Proven experience in a buying role within the lifestyle accessories sector, as an accessories buying expert
* Negotiation and supplier management skills.
* Ability to analyse market trends and consumer insights to inform buying decisions.
* Experience in bringing products from concept to market, supporting the full product lifecycle.
* Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work cross-functionally.
* Super passionate, highly commercial & confident in the Abbott Lyon customer and brand DNA
Preferred Skills:
* Experience with brands selling across the UK & US.
* Experience working within high-growth eCommerce/D2C environments going multichannel.
