Our forward-looking, prestigious school is seeking a dedicated and passionate professional to join our innovative team and help shape the minds of the next generation. With an illustrious history dating back to 1528, The King's School has been a cornerstone of the Grantham community for centuries.
We seek to appoint a dynamic, well-qualified Head of Rugby in September 2025 to work in a highly successful, supportive department focusing on delivering excellence. The School has a first-class academic reputation, offering a wide range of extra-curricular opportunities, and has had great success in many sports, particularly rugby, cricket, football and water polo. The ability to teach GCSE Physical Education is essential and to A level would be desirable, as this is a popular subject that achieves outstanding exam results.
There is an expectation that the successful candidate will arrange an extensive fixture list and be available to support rugby teams throughout the season, including outside school hours and at the weekend.
As a member of The King's School family, you'll have the opportunity to work with some of the region's brightest and most motivated students. Our comprehensive academic programme is designed to provide students with a well-rounded education that prepares them for success in all areas of life. At The King's School, you'll be part of a supportive and collaborative team of educators dedicated to helping students achieve their full potential both within and beyond the curriculum.

Whilst a closing date for applications has been set, we reserve the right to interview and appoint a suitable candidate prior. This being the case, we would encourage early applications for the post.
The King’s School is an equal opportunities employer and is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. It expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. Successful candidates will be expected to follow school safeguarding procedures and promote the welfare of students.

Conducting Online Searches
Keeping Children Safe in Education (KCSIE) asks schools to carry out online searches on shortlisted candidates as part of the process of assessing suitability.
Candidates are therefore required to provide the following information as part of your application:
* the social media platforms on which you have accounts;
* the account names / handles for all of your social media accounts, including any under a nickname or pseudonym;
* any websites you are involved with, in or featured on or named on; and
* any other publicly available online information about you of which the School should be made aware.
If you are shortlisted for the role, we may carry out an online search based on the information you provide in this form. If we carry out a search, we will also search more widely for any other online information about you.
You are not required to provide account passwords or to grant the School access to private social media accounts.
If you are not shortlisted for the role, online searches will not be carried out on you.
The post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974, and the School is therefore permitted to ask job applicants to declare all convictions and cautions (including those which are “spent” unless they are “protected” under the DBS filtering rules; see https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/dbs-filtering-guidance) in order to assess their suitability to work with children.
Please note that feedback will only be provided to candidates whose applications progress to the interview stage.
