The role
As a Painter, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. You’ll work on a diverse fleet, ranging from quad bikes to armoured vehicles such as Challenger 2 tanks and light infantry vehicles like the Foxhound. Your work will directly support the readiness and operational capability of military equipment.
Day-to-day, you’ll prepare a variety of military vehicles, which includes washing, cleaning, masking, blasting, filling, and sanding to ensure surfaces are ready for paint application. You’ll carry out painting tasks using techniques such as spraying, patch painting, and rolling, ensuring all work meets required standards and specifications. You will also:
* Perform pre-use checks on equipment
* Maintain stock levels
* Follow customer requirements, regulations, and approved technical instructions
Please note that the successful candidate will be required to pass a targeted medical questionnaire and/or medical examination as a condition of employment for this role.
This position involves manual work, including lifting, bending, using tools, or standing for extended periods of time.
This role is full time, 37 hours per week and is based on site at Catterick.
Essential experience of the Painter:
* Experience of spray painting heavy commercial vehicles
Qualifications for the Painter:
* Educated to Level 3 in Regulated Qualification Framework (RQF) / National Vocational Qualification (NVQ) as a minimum - paint spraying
* Holds valid and appropriate UK driving licence
Security Clearance
The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
