Overview Atkins Search is currently recruiting for an M&E Senior Quantity Surveyor to join an award-winning Mechanical & Electrical Contractor based in Epsom with hybrid working available. You will have the option to work across a variety of sectors, including pharmaceutical, healthcare, residential, retail, education, leisure, commercial, and many more exciting schemes Role As the M&E Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will be involved in projects from inception to completion, your responsibilities will include: Support the smooth transition from estimating to delivery by participating in tender handovers Lead or assist in the preparation, submission, and negotiation of tenders in collaboration with the Project Manager or Operations Manager Ensure all projects commence with appropriate Letters of Intent (LOI) or Purchase Orders (PO) in place Develop and maintain project buying schedules alongside the Project Manager Verify all subcontractors are pre-approved before engagement Procure and manage subcontractor packages, ensuring compliance with specifications, drawings, and employer requirements Negotiate and agree subcontract payment terms Prepare accurate project cash flow forecasts Submit client applications promptly and accurately Review and validate subcontractor applications, ensuring timely and fair valuations Manage all project-related correspondence and participate in project meetings Person The successful candidate for this M&E Senior Quantity Surveyor vacancy will have: Mechanical/Electrical awareness and knowledge Previous experience operating as a M&E Senior Quantity Surveyor in a main contracting environment A high standard of education including literacy and numeracy Degree qualified in an RICS approved QS course Five years’ experience in a commercial or QS role Previous experience at a senior level in a management role Good communication and organisational skills Strong commercial and contractual knowledge/understanding including contract law, profit and loss, adjudication, variations and extensions of time Accuracy and quality in reports and documents Remuneration Building and maintaining positive working relationships throughout is one of my clients core business values in order to deliver a positive legacy, whilst also recognising that the heart of their business is their staff.
