Job Title: Instrument Engineer
We are seeking an experienced Instrument Engineer to join our client's team at their site in Aberdeen. As a key member of the operations site-based team, you will provide front-line support and technical discipline input to projects.
Responsibilities:
* SPECIFY, SCOPE AND EXECUTE IMPROVEMENTS TO INSTRUMENT AND PROTECTIVE SYSTEMS
* ACTION AS ASSET IPS ENGINEERING FOCAL POINT FOR SITE PROJECTS, INCLUDING STUDIES
* ACTION AS IPS SINGLE POINT OF ACCOUNTABILITY FOR LONG-TERM ASSET STRATEGY
* LEAD DISCIPLINE IMPROVEMENTS IN PLANT RELIABILITY, EQUIPMENT STRATEGY, DEFECT ELIMINATION AND EQUIPMENT RATIONALISATION
* DEFINE AND OWN THE ASSET'S IPS SPARES STRATEGY
* LEAD DISCIPLINE IMPROVEMENTS IN PLANT RELIABILITY, ROOT CAUSE ANALYSIS, DEFECT ELIMINATION AND CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT
* LEAD / CONTRIBUTE TO SAFETY REVIEWS, RISK ASSESSMENTS AND INVESTIGATIONS AS THE INSTRUMENT AND PROTECTIVE SYSTEMS ENGINEERING FOCAL POINT
* ACTION AS CUSTODIAN OF ASSET MAINTENANCE STRATEGIES FOR IPS EQUIPMENT
* SUPPORT THE MAINTENANCE TEAM IN REGARDS TO EQUIPMENT BREAKDOWN; INCLUDING INVESTIGATION OF FAULT, DEFECT RESOLUTION AND EXECUTION OF BREAKDOWN MAINTENANCE
* MONITOR AND ADVISE ON THE TECHNICAL AND SAFETY IMPLICATIONS OF ANY MAINTENANCE BACKLOG
* ACTION AS CUSTODIAN OF KEY IPS ENGINEERING DOCUMENTATION INCLUDING CONTROL PHILOSOPHIES, CAUSE AND EFFECT DIAGRAMS, HAZARDOUS AREA DRAWINGS, LOOP DIAGRAMS, TRIP AND ALARMS REGISTERS, ALARM RESPONSE MANUAL, ENSURING SAME ARE KEPT UP-TO-DATE
* PROVIDE TECHNICAL SUPPORT TO ASSET TAR ACTIVITIES
* COCACH ASSET INSTRUMENT TECHNICIANS TO ENSURE THEIR COMPETENCY AND SKILLS ARE CONTINULLY IMPROVED
* PARTICIPATION IN INCIDENT MANAGEMENT TEAM
* TRAVEL TO OFFSHORE PLATFORMS OR REMOTE ON-SHORE SITES TO PROVIDE TECHNICAL SUPPORT
* SUPPORT PLANNED AND UNPLANNED OUTAGES
* PARTICIPATION IN THE ASSET SELF-AUDIT PROGRAM
Requirements:
* Bachelor's Degree in Instrument Engineering or related field
* Chartered Engineer or actively working towards chartered status
* BOSIET, Medical and MIST for offshore travel
* Minimum 5 years' experience in O&G, Refining or Chemical Industries
* Knowledge and experience of design, operation, commissioning and maintenance of legacy instrument equipment, control systems and ESD systems
* Comprehensive understanding of UK Regulatory (Safety Case, COMAH, etc) and industry standards
Salary: £60,000 - £80,000 per annum, depending on experience
