Location: Hybrid - 2 days a week on site at either Aldermaston or Burghfield locations / Remote Working
AWE plays a crucial role in national nuclear security. Their role in nuclear deterrence and their specialist technical assistance to nuclear threat reduction is vital in the defence against the most serious threats faced by the UK. Working to support the defence of our country, AWE has a clear mission: to keep everyone, the environment, their products and information, sites, and everything around them, safe and secure.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Validate and verify schedule data provided by suppliers (internal and external to AWE) prior to appropriate incorporation within IMS.
2. Provide planning input to projects throughout the project lifecycle at the appropriate level.
3. Support the Senior Planner with emergent projects as directed by Business Management Manager.
4. Maintain and promote high personal standards in environment, safety, health, security and quality and be a great team player.
5. Creation of the Work Breakdown Structure, Resource loading, Project level IMS (Integrated Master Schedule), and Project-specific basis of scheduling documents.
6. Undertake EV percentage complete, schedule forecasting, updating milestone status and critical path analysis, and undertake schedule performance review including EV variance analysis.
7. Provide planning input to Investment approval and Change Control process, Risk and Opportunity process, and Peer reviews.
8. Produce Planning and EV deliverables in accordance with the appropriate procedures and guidelines.
9. Propose solutions and workarounds to address schedule performance issues.
10. Ensure understanding of responsibilities and demonstrate appropriate behaviours in line with the Company's environmental, health, safety, security, quality and ethics standards.
11. Develop and maintain relationships with and awareness of project members.
Required Experience:
Strong experience as a planner across either public or private sectors.
Commercial awareness in working with contractors and suppliers.
Scheduling experience across the planning portfolio.
