Job overview
We have an exciting opportunity for you to join a well-established, supportive and experienced Speech & Language Therapy team as a Band 5 Speech and Language Therapist. We are looking for enthusiastic and motivated individuals to be part of our team and contribute to the future of our service.
Our team is committed to achieving improved outcomes for children referred to our service, whilst promoting evidence-based practice and embracing innovative ways of working. As a team we pride ourselves on being supportive, and have robust systems of supervision, induction and training in place allowing you to further develop your skills and interests.
We would consider applications from therapists who are about to qualify and/or have not yet received their HCPC registration, as well as therapists who are already working in a Band 5 position.
Main duties of the job
* To contribute to the provision of Speech and Language Therapy services, administering assessments, writing care plans and delivering therapy for children and young people with a variety of speech, language and communication needs.
* To work as an effective team member with excellent interpersonal skills.
* To support in the development and delivery of evidence-based intervention programmes.
* To organise, plan and prioritise your own workload.
* To attend relevant training courses, meetings and clinical excellent networks (CENs) related to your areas of interest in order to maintain skills and knowledge required of a Speech and Language Therapist.

NELFT place a great deal of importance on new starters being properly welcomed and inducted into the Trust. All new starters will join the Trust on the first Monday of each month and will undertake a comprehensive induction of up to two weeks which will include mandatory training, systems training and the allocation of equipment.

Qualifications
* Degree in Speech and Language Therapy
Skills
* Administering formal and informal Speech and Language assessments, analysing assessment results and setting appropriate goals
Experience
* Experience working with children with a variety of speech, language and communication needs
Knowledge
