We are looking to recruit a motivated, enthusiastic and clinically capable Band 5 Trained Nurse to join our nursing team for our 19 bedded Ward at Newquay Community Hospital. The Trained Nurse role requires the post holder to be committed to the ongoing development of the ward and multi-disciplinary team working. We aim to deliver the highest standard of patient and rehabilitative care to our predominantly elderly patients.
The ideal applicant will possess relevant inpatient ward experience and a good level of organisational, communication and clinical skills relevant to the post and be able to act as a positive role model.
You will be undertaking a range of Early, Late and Night duties on a rotational basis in order to support 24 hour nursing care, 7 days per week. Although based at Newquay Community Hospital, a flexible working approach is required to support other hospitals in the locality as service needs require.

Main duties of the job
1. The assessment of care needs and the development and implementation of programmes of care in the ward setting.
2. To be a team leader and provide all forms of nursing care without direct supervision.
3. To provide mentorship to pre and post registration students and Healthcare Assistants undertaking the National Vocational Awards.
Newquay Community Hospital offers a range of services focusing on assessment, rehabilitation and palliative care.
Facilities Include: 19 inpatient beds, Minor Injury Unit, Out-patient department, Physiotherapy and Occupational Therapy Departments, X-ray Department and Community Nurse Base.

Education / Qualifications and Relevant Experience
* Evidence of team working.
* Evidence of ongoing professional development.
* Experience of working within a community hospital and working in care of the elderly; ENB 941 an advantage.
* First Degree or Diploma (or working towards).
