General Function
The Childwatch Assistant will be responsible for maintaining a safe, structured, and fun program for Child Watch and Kids Club participants.
Education/Experience/Training/Certifications
* Experience working with children in a supervised setting is preferred.
* Must be willing to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
Job Duties & Responsibilities
* Ensures the health, safety, and well-being of children in the program by providing close supervision of all activities.
* Maintain the appropriate staff-to-child ratios and assist in maintaining attendance records.
* Maintains a positive and respectful manner of communication with families/parents.
* Serve as a role model for all youth and all staff by displaying exemplary behavior at all times including but not limited to demonstrating YMCA core values, voice, and HEPA standards.
* Must be knowledgeable in illnesses and child abuse symptoms and procedures.
* Performs other assigned duties as directed by the Supervisor.
Abilities & Skills
* Ability to plan, lead, and participate in Child Watch activities in a variety of indoor and/or outdoor settings.
