This post is for internal candidates to South Tees Trust. If you are not currently working within the trust your application will not be reviewed and automatically rejected at shortlisting stage. Please be aware of this when submitting your application.
We are currently seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Band 5 Children's registered nurse to join the Children's Community Nursing Service across Middlesbrough, Redcar and Cleveland. This is an exciting opportunity to work within the well-established team. The Children's Community Nursing Service is an integrated paediatric service providing care for children within a community setting.
There is an expectation, at times of service need, that you may be required to work in other children's services across the Trust that are based at James Cook hospital in Middlesbrough or across the SEND schools in Middlesbrough, Redcar and Cleveland.
As a member of the Children's Community Nursing Team you will provide high quality, evidence based holistic care to children with acute and chronic health needs, within their own homes or a community setting such as respite care centre or an educational setting. Care for children will also be provided across the acute inpatient and outpatient setting.
The successful candidate must be able to work flexibly between the hours of 8am and 6pm, Monday to Friday.
Main duties of the job
The role involves teaching parents/carers/children/young people, and other health professionals as required and supporting pre and post registered nursing students.
This role requires an experienced clinician with team working and communication skills, who can deliver effective evidence-based care to a defined demographic population with diverse health care and social needs.
This is an exciting opportunity for an innovative, dynamic and enthusiastic Registered Sick Children's Nurse (RSCN) or Registered Nurse Child (RN Child), who is looking to expand their knowledge and experience working with children and young people predominantly in a community setting.
The successful candidate needs to be prepared to adapt to the changing needs of the Trust and the community models of care as they arise.
The centre is committed to providing the right candidate with a development programme that will not only enhance their academic qualification and nursing interest but will also provide an excellent foundation for professional development, as well as gaining an insight into the intra-organisational structure and processes.
The Trust is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment and promote safeguarding by implementing the trust's policies and procedures, acting promptly on concerns, communicating effectively and sharing information appropriately.
