We are currently recruiting for a qualified HCPC registered Lead Practitioner Psychologist, to join us in providing high quality recovery care to a diverse client group. Your role is to grow and support the team's ability to respond effectively to individuals' past trauma, to also help build motivation and develop resources to assist people to change the way they think, feel and behave. As part of your role, you will hold a specialist caseload of clients with co-existing substance use and mental health needs. We are looking for a Lead Practitioner Psychologist with strong CBT and motivational interviewing practice, who not only possess expertise in their work within drug and alcohol services, but have a passion for developing skills and supporting and supervising others in the delivery of psychologically informed work. You will be a compassionate and empathetic individual, with the ability to connect quickly with the people we support. You will receive regular clinical supervision and professional support from a more senior Practitioner Psychologist in substance use and will be in a supportive environment, where you will be encouraged to develop your clinical skills as well as providing an opportunity to develop leadership skills, making a difference beyond your own individual practice. We are open to applications from those who may be interested in working a hybrid model (3 days on-site), or who are interested in a part-time position (4 days min. per week). Essential Skills Post graduate Doctoral level training (BPS accredited) in clinical or counselling psychology, or equivalent, including specifically models of psychopathology, clinical psychometrics and neuropsychology Completed training course in clinical supervision Registered with the HCPC as a Practitioner Psychologist, and evidence of continuing professional development as required by the HCPC Demonstrable experience of having worked as a practitioner psychologist (e.g. clinical, or counselling) under the supervision of a more senior member of the profession for a minimum of 2 years Demonstrable experience of working specifically within the substance misuse field for a minimum of 1 year post qualification Demonstrable experience of specialist psychological assessment and treatment of clients with a range of Accreditation with BABCP as a supervisor or trainer Advanced training in an evidence based psychological therapy for substance misuse Experience of working across several service bases within a designated geographical area psychological needs and coexisting substance use across the full range of severity and complexity Demonstrable experience of providing psychological treatments for trauma e.g. EMDR, trauma focussed CBT Experience of supervising the practice of psychology staff ie practitioner and /or assistant and/or trainee psychologists Desirable Skills A full job description will be provided upon request.
