Our education agency is seeking a dedicated and dynamic Deputy Nursery Manager to join a well-established nursery in Winchester. This is a fantastic opportunity to work in a supportive and nurturing environment, where you'll play a key role in the development and management of a high-quality early years provision.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Assisting the Nursery Manager in the day-to-day operation of the nursery, ensuring high standards of care and education.
2. Leading and supporting a team of nursery practitioners, offering guidance, mentorship, and training to ensure a positive and professional working environment.
3. Overseeing the planning, implementation, and evaluation of age-appropriate activities that promote children's learning and development.
4. Ensuring compliance with all regulatory and statutory requirements, including safeguarding, health and safety, and the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS).
5. Maintaining strong relationships with parents, offering regular updates on their child's progress and wellbeing.
6. Helping to recruit, train, and develop staff, ensuring continuous professional development.
7. Deputising for the Nursery Manager in their absence and stepping into a leadership role when required.
Requirements:
1. A minimum of a Level 3 qualification in Childcare or Early Years Education (a Level 5 or above qualification is highly desirable).
2. Previous experience in a leadership or supervisory role within a nursery or early years setting.
3. Strong knowledge of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) and safeguarding procedures.
4. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.
5. A passion for working with children and providing high-quality early years education and care.
6. A proactive and solution-focused attitude with the ability to lead by example.
7. Paediatric First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
