Multiple Site Engineer Roles across various locations - Leeds, North East, and Penrith!\n\nOur Client has a requirement for Site Engineers, who will be required to work on a contract basis across various UK locations:\n\nRole: Site Engineer\nLocations: Leeds: North East and Penrith\nContract work: 6 months initially – long term project work \nDay rate and Night rates on offer at an uplifted rate\nProject type: Structural Repair/ Specialist Repair Schemes\n\nRole Purpose:\n\nThe primary purpose is to support the implementation of the engineering strategy for a designated project, ensuring efficient management of materials, labour, and resources within the allocated budget.\n\nKey Responsibilities (Accountabilities):\n\nEngineering Strategy and Project Support – Assist the senior team in implementing the project’s engineering strategy and framework.\nResource Management – Manage materials, plant, and labour, ensuring their efficient and safe use within the allocated budget.\nCommunication of Systems and Design – Ensure all relevant systems and design information are communicated effectively to project teams.\nVerification and Technical Support – Provide support to the project delivery team, including verifying work and offering technical guidance.\nProject Assurance – Lead or support project audits, ensuring adherence to best practices, quality, and safety standards.\nCustomer and Supplier Relationships – Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, technical consultants, and suppliers, managing their input into design and delivery.\nContinuous Improvement and Team Development – Coach and motivate the team, fostering a culture of high performance and continuous improvement.\nProcurement and Material Control – Ensure efficient procurement processes and maintain accurate schedules and cost reports.\nQuality Control and Technical Integrity – Implement quality assurance principles and ensure that the customer’s requirements are met.\nProgress Reporting – Provide accurate and timely progress reports to senior management, highlighting performance against project estimates.\nDigital Tool Integration – Leverage digital tools and technologies to support project execution and enhance efficiency.\nHealth, Safety, and Sustainability – Maintain a focus on Zero Harm and contribute to sustainability efforts.\n\nQualifications and Experience:\n\nEngineering Expertise – Previous experience in engineering and a subject matter expert in the relevant discipline.\nEducational Background – A degree in an engineering discipline and professional qualifications (e.g., MICE, MIStructE) are desirable.\nExperience and Skills – Prior management experience in construction or a related industry, with strong knowledge of technical issues and trends.\nCommunication and Interpersonal Skills – Strong communication skills, able to build relationships and work under pressure.\nInnovation and Development Focus – A strong desire to innovate and continuously pursue engineering excellence.\nAdditional Desirable Skills – Familiarity with Building Information Modeling (BIM) and its practical application. Tier One contractor experience would also be desirable.\n\nPersonal Qualities:\n\nAbility to identify and address issues promptly, with a strong drive to ensure corrective action is taken.\nCustomer-centric with a flexible, team-oriented approach.\nA relentless focus on safety (Zero Harm) and sustainability.\n\nThis role requires a highly skilled engineer with both technical and leadership capabilities, focusing on project delivery, team management, and quality assurance.\n\nCompany information\n\nAt First Recruitment Group we understand just how important it is to secure the right people.
