Welder (Public Sector) VANRATH are assisting our client, a large Public Sector Organisation, in their search for an Welder for 3 months initially with the possibility of extension. You will predominantly be based in their Portadown site. Responsibilities The successful candidate will be expected to fulfil a requirement to: To undertake all welding work associated with the maintenance and refurbishment of buildings including and not limited to: Cutting and joining and bending material. Performing ARC welding on occasion Using mechanized systems and techniques such as metal inert gas welding. Welding components in vertical, flat, and overhead positions. Analysing site specific drawings Taking detailed measurements from site visits to aid fabrication. Reading and interpreting technical drawings and documentation To provide a quality customer service and maintain a good customer relationship on behalf of the client. To ensure the health and safety of our tenants, especially vulnerable tenants when undertaking work in occupied properties. To liaise with customers to arrange appointments, access arrangements, discuss work required etc. Requirements Applicants must provide evidence by the closing date for application that they meet the following essential criteria: Have successfully completed an apprenticeship in Welding (either time served or skills based). Have a minimum of one year's relevant post apprenticeship experience working in a Welding Can demonstrate practical knowledge and understanding of current Health and Safety requirements and legislation in a maintenance/repair environment. A full current driving licence to enable the post holder to carry out the required duties of this post Remuneration c£25,545 per annum, plus discount benefits.
