This is a rare and exciting opportunity to join the business as part of the management team and share in their exciting and ambitious plans for the future.
Managing a number of successful branches, you will be responsible for the day-to-day running of the Company, driving sales, and maximising profitability.
You should share my clients passion for constantly improving customer experience, ensuring health and safety is at the forefront of everything they do. You will also need to be adaptable and resilient, responding to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
You will need to demonstrate previous experience working at management level within a builders merchants or similar environment.
Main Responsibilities:
1. Implement & monitor all necessary policies and procedures to ensure a safe and healthy working environment across the site.
2. Evaluate overall company and branch performance by gathering, analysing and interpreting data and metrics, then building & executing plans for improvement.
3. Develop and control the business and each branchs operational budget to promote profitability and ensure all resources are available to meet objectives within agreed financial parameters.
4. Ensure that all Company staff members are motivated, supported, and suitably trained to carry out their responsibilities to the required standard.
5. Purchase goods, materials, components, and services.
6. Liaise with other branches and communicate any supply problems that may impact business operations.
7. Monitor and advise on any issue which presents risk or opportunity to the business.
8. Monitor market trends, competitor strategies, and market suppliers.
9. Monitor stock levels.
10. Provide analysis on cost, new and existing products, and review cost reduction activities.
11. Work closely with staff and other branches to review opportunities for continuous improvement and growth.
12. Negotiate improved processes and terms of business with suppliers, and review opportunities to make business savings using negotiating skills and experience.
13. Attend fairs, events, meetings, and exhibitions, and remain up to date with new and existing products and seasonal market trends.
14. Ensure compliance with company guidelines and purchasing policies and procedures.
15. Conduct research for new products and suppliers.
You will need:
1. Knowledge and experience of the builders merchant sector along with core products and services.
2. Significant operational management experience.
3. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
4. Excellent organisational and leadership abilities.
5. Excellent decision-making skills.
6. Full UK driving licence.
