Job Description
We are recruiting a Senior Mental Health Youth Worker for our new service at Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Woolwich, London. This role focuses on providing specialist support to young people aged 11-18 attending A&E due to mental health crises, including self-harm.
Your key responsibilities will include:
1. Delivering holistic, trauma-informed care plans tailored to individual needs.
2. Supervising and supporting a Mental Health Youth Worker to deliver effective interventions.
3. Building relationships with hospital staff and local community organisations to create a strong network of support.
4. Working directly with young people both in the hospital and post-discharge in the community.
5. Leading team meetings, contributing to staff training, and supporting project evaluation efforts.

Qualifications
Essential:
1. Degree-level qualification in youth work, social work, or a related discipline.
2. Extensive experience in supporting young people with complex mental health needs.
3. Proven ability to manage teams, deliver training, and build effective partnerships.
4. Strong knowledge of safeguarding practices and youth development.
Desirable:
1. Familiarity with health inequalities and their impact on diverse communities.
2. Experience working within London boroughs or similar environments.
Contract: Full time, permanent
Hours & work pattern: 37.5 hours per week, with regular evening and weekend shifts required. Shifts will be scheduled to ensure team cover from 1pm to 9:00 pm daily.
Salary: £32,917.50
Screening: Successful admission to post subject to enhanced DBS check, and employer Right To Work in the UK check. The post-holder must have right to work in the UK. Catch22 does not currently provide a licence to sponsor visas.
