Experienced and flexible electrically biased field service and commissioning engineer required to undertake service, installation, and test activities on a range of niche sector control solutions.
Our established and highly successful niche sector client offers a range of highest quality services that encompass Project Management and Implementation, Consultancy, and Software Development to blue-chip clients worldwide. Due to continued success and an ongoing planned programme of strategic growth, they are seeking to recruit an enthusiastic and experienced multi-skilled, electrically biased Field Service and Commissioning Engineer to join the existing Industrial Automation and Projects team.
You will be a team player with a resourceful and tenacious drive to complete tasks efficiently and thoroughly. Your responsibilities will include (but are not limited to):
1. Checking installed equipment is to the correct standard prior to testing, including verifying installation against drawings and marking up any differences; checking the termination of plant equipment cables into outstations meet standards in the Code of Practice and creating a snag list.
2. Performing system testing according to Installation and Commissioning Test (ICT) documentation.
3. Fault finding, modification, and debugging PLC and SCADA code or interface issues.
4. Device setup and testing, including configuration and setup of sensors and verification of system operation.
5. Performing client Site Acceptance Testing and system-wide operational control tests, including testing integrated system functionality and site-wide failure scenarios.
To be considered for this role, the successful candidate should have at least an HND level qualification or above in electrical or control engineering and demonstrate at least 2 years of relevant work experience in testing electrical control systems.
You must hold a full UK driving licence and have no criminal convictions, as security clearances are required by airport authorities. You should also be eligible to work in the UK without requiring a visa or sponsorship.
This is a field-based role covering the UK and occasionally Europe. It is ideally suited for someone based in the Midlands or the South, with a flexible approach to travel and working away from home.
