Provision of neonatal surgery supports the level 3 Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, which is based in the adjacent Aberdeen Maternity Hospital. This will move to a new development, the ‘Baird Family Hospital’ once construction is complete. Royal Aberdeen Children’s Hospital is a Paediatric Major Trauma Centre and part of the North of Scotland Trauma Network. It is the regional paediatric oncology provider for the North of Scotland. Additional clinical networks enable children from other parts of Scotland to receive their specialist care in Aberdeen.
