Ward Clerk - Frailty Assessment Unit and Virtual Ward
We are looking for an enthusiastic, motivated individual to join our team. The post holder will be responsible for providing clerical support to the team on Frailty Assessment Unit and the Frailty Virtual Ward.
The post holder will be required to have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and be able to provide an efficient reception, telephone and clerical service. They must possess good organisational skills and have experience of using computer database systems and ideally hold an NVQ2/3 in Business and Administration. Previous experience in working within the NHS is preferred.

Main Duties of the Job
1. To work as a member of a team and act as a receptionist, ensuring that all patients and their relatives are welcomed to the Ward and any queries answered.
2. To provide administrative and clerical support for the Ward, including preparation of medical records prior to outpatient clinics, filing results, and making appointments.
3. To maintain the Virtual Clinic diary booking and ongoing follow-up appointments, ensuring that clinics are actioned and closed according to outcome.
4. To work within guidelines of Trust Customer Care Strategy and contribute to the Unit Action Plan for implementation.
5. Complete the requirements of the Hospital Patient Administration System (Oasis & Sunrise).
6. To receive results and reports and forward to the appropriate persons.
7. To arrange transport for patients as necessary.
8. To photocopy material as requested by the Nurse in Charge and maintain an adequate supply of documentation.

Person Specification
Qualifications & Education
* GCSE or equivalent at Grade C / Level 4-9 to include Maths and English or functional skills level 2
* Qualification in basic computer skills
* NVQ level 2/3 in Business and Administration or equivalent
Knowledge and Training
* Willing to undertake further training/development
* Demonstrates an understanding of confidentiality
* Evidence of researching position applied for
Experience
* Previous reception/office experience
* Previous filing experience
* Experience of work in customer care
* Previous experience of working within the NHS
* Experience in the use of Oasis system (PAS)
