OVERVIEW
The Territory Manager works directly with representatives and contractors, as well as other external and internal people to maximize sales volume. This position requires enterprising people who are frequently involved in starting and carrying out projects, demonstrating both leadership and decision-making skills. The ideal candidate is someone who is realistic and comfortable in dealing with hands-on problems and practical solutions in a time period acceptable to the customer. A person in this position thrives on achievement, while working creatively, responsibly, and autonomously when appropriate.
FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES
* Responsible for securing quotations for the sale of large projects (aka: orders) through representatives and distributors of Linx Industries' products.
* Evaluates customer's orders and makes suggestions for the most efficient use of products with respect to application, space, and airflow, providing a customized solution to the customer's needs.
* Provide technical and sales support of products, developing brand awareness with the customer/clients.
* Assist customers with submittals and bill of material (BOM) quotations, as well as follow up on previous quotations provided by the estimating department.
* Contact current and potential customers via email, telephone, and fax, and visit establishments to evaluate needs and promote sales of products and services.
* Actively grow awareness of markets and competitors' activities, recognizing developing trends while communicating findings back to the Business Development Manager. This includes developing a database of competitors' quotes and scope, who they market to, as well as rep agency information such as principal's name and information, and other mediums they sell through (i.e. Internet).
* Attend sales and trade shows and read related publications to obtain current market condition information, business trends, and industry developments as required by the Business Development Manager.
* Provide technical support of products and CADVent software.
* Submit product orders and follow up to verify materials list is accurate and delivery schedule meets customer's needs, including resolution of any issues relating to order entry, shipping, or product damage that may arise.
* Obtain building blueprints and submit to the takeoff department for bid.
* Create & give PowerPoint presentations for product offerings and other sales purposes to engineers, rep agencies, contractors, and building owners. Product demonstrations will be given in conjunction with these presentations.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS
* Mechanical Engineering degree but other related fields of study will be considered.
* 3+ Years' Experience - inside sales or sales support role.
* 5+ Years' Experience - construction industry and HVAC experience.
* Highly proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, detail-oriented.
* Excellent time management and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks at once in both independent and team environments.
* Effective oral and written communication ability.
* Strong understanding of sales & marketing processes, construction industry, and architectural drawings.
