Are you a skilled and experienced Senior Project Manager with a track record of delivering capital, revenue and transformation projects using structured methodologies and proven techniques? Do you want to make a difference and drive change? If so, this role could be for you.
We are seeking a dynamic and enthusiastic Senior Project Manager experienced in leading innovative projects ideally within a local authority and skilled in developing and delivering complex projects on time, to budget and to a high quality.
This is an exciting opportunity to join the Torfaen project team which is working on several varied capital and revenue projects ranging from the redevelopment of a local visitor attraction to service transformation projects.
As a Senior Project Manager you will take ownership of a number of exciting projects that are of strategic importance within our County Plan. You will ensure projects are delivered in line with the Council’s procurement contract standing orders and governance requirements and manage the entire project lifecycle, from initial strategic planning, through to feasibility, design and then into implementation/construction and handover.
We are keen to work with talented individuals with a “can do” approach who have a strong track record of delivering key corporate projects.

Qualifications / Experience:
Essential
5. Degree level, equivalent qualification or 5 years experience in a project management role.
6. Prince2 (Practitioner) APM PMQ or equivalent project management qualification or 5 years relevant experience.
7. Experience of developing, managing and delivering large, complex and strategically important projects from end to end.
8. Proven track record of strong leadership and relationship management.
9. Ability to embed process, providing support and challenge to colleagues.
Desirable
10. Experience and knowledge of council’s strategic objectives.
11. Experience of Local Government governance structure.
