Dental Officer (Special Care and Children's Dentistry)
The Integrated Care Board is offering a £20,000 pro rata* recruitment incentive to the successful applicant for this vacancy. This incentive is subject to meeting eligibility criteria and terms and conditions. A payment of £20,000 pro rata* will be made on commencement in post.
*The payment of £20000 is pro rata to the contractual hours, as this vacancy is for 30 hours per week (0.80 full-time equivalent) the incentive payment will be £16000 prior to tax and NI deductions.

Shropshire Community Dental Service is seeking to recruit a Dentist to join our children's and special care dental service working primarily at our sites in Telford and Shrewsbury. The successful applicant will provide special care and children's dentistry in both primary and secondary care settings.
Applicants must have full General Dental Council registration and must meet the requirements for the employment of a Dental Performer under the NHS Contract and for inclusion on the National Performers list as determined by NHS England.
Main duties of the job
The Community Dental Service provides a comprehensive special care dentistry and paediatric dentistry service across three sites in Telford, Shrewsbury and Oswestry as well as GA services across 2 different hospital trusts, sedation and domiciliary services. Additionally, the service provides unscheduled in-hours dental care from two sites, Castle Foregate in Shrewsbury and Oswestry Health Centre via a single point of access dental advice line and runs salaried general dental practices at Market Drayton and Craven Arms, as well as an oral health improvement team and dental epidemiology services.
We provide out of hours care at weekends from Dawley in Telford and Shrewsbury, and an evening on call service which is accessed via NHS 111. Out of hours and on call services are remunerated at a rate additional to salary.
The team is looking to provide development opportunities for Band A dentists working within the service through internal talent management systems.

Qualifications
* Full dentist GDC registration is required.
* Dental Practitioner must have completed Vocational Training, been issued with a VT number or demonstrate VT equivalence training. Applicants must meet the requirements for the employment of a Dental Performer under NHS Contract and for inclusion on the National Performers list as determined by the NHS England.
Experience
* Dental Practitioner with experience of primary care dentistry, special care and children's dentistry.
Knowledge
* Demonstrate the competencies of a band A dentist which are clinical, communication, management & leadership, professionalism and teaching & training.
Personal Qualities
* Good communicator, professionalism, flexible, team-worker, self-directed & be able to manage change.
* A commitment to quality and to be striving for clinical excellence based upon evidence based practice.
