Due to growth, the position of Senior Project Manager has become available to join our vibrant team based in Teesside.
The Net Zero Teesside (NZT) project in association with the Northern Endurance Partnership (NEP) intends to kick start de-carbonisation of the Humber & Teesside industrial clusters during the mid-2020s. Through NEP, bp is leading development of the East Coast Cluster, which aims to decarbonize the Teesside and Humber regions and establish a platform for economic growth.
Working on behalf of bp, Costain has been awarded the Off Site Battery Limits (OSBL) scope of work, which includes the onshore pipelines and power cable requirements of the project. It will be Costain's responsibility to design and deliver the main aspects of this scope.
Reporting to the Project Director, this is a senior project leadership role responsible for the safe delivery of the construction phase of the project on programme and right first time.
The Senior Project Manager will be the "controlling mind" for the planning and delivery of the full project scope, providing safety and quality leadership, management, and coordination of the Facilities contractors. With a strong multi-discipline construction and technical background, they will lead the resolution of site issues that could impact progress. The Construction Manager will work closely with the Package Managers and Facilities contractors to resolve performance issues and blockers to progress.
Working arrangement: This role will be based on site in Teesside with the option for dynamic working.

Role Requirements:
1. Experience as a Project Manager/Construction Manager managing the delivery of large-scale, multi-discipline scopes of work.
2. In-depth experience of installing buried pipelines.
3. Detailed experience of onsite construction management and safe delivery, to time, quality, and budget.
4. Detailed knowledge of Safe Systems of Work, Construction Phase Plans, risk assessment, and construction hazards.
5. Experience of projects within brownfield and live operating site environments.
6. Experience in the management of site subcontractors with civil, mechanical, electrical, and site controls systems.
7. Understanding of engineering and construction principles, construction techniques, and best practices.
