Job Summary
The Together Trust is seeking a Therapy Assistant to join their multi-disciplinary team and support a young person and their family for 12 hours per week. The role involves developing and delivering therapy programmes, providing advice and support to the young person and their family, and contributing to the young person's risk assessment and management plans.
Main duties of the job
As a Therapy Assistant, you will work under the direction of an advisory teacher and with input from the Psychology, speech and language therapy, and occupational therapy teams to develop and deliver programmes of activity for a young person with autism and ADHD. You will provide advice, support, and coaching for the young person and their family, and attend meetings including multi-disciplinary team meetings to contribute to the young person's support planning. The role requires experience in supporting therapy programmes, working in specialist education, and relating well to parents and carers. Additionally, the ideal candidate will have patience, understanding, and a willingness to approach things differently to meet the young person's needs.

Job Description
Job responsibilities
Under the direction from an advisory teacher with input from the Psychology, speech and language therapy and occupational therapy teams, you will develop programmes of activity and provide these according to the young person's needs under the guidance of the team professionals. You will provide advice, support, and coaching for the young person and their family, under the guidance of the Therapy and Specialist Support (TSS) professionals. In addition, you will attend meetings including MDT as required contributing to the young person's risk assessment and management plans ensuring that the young person is involved in their support planning wherever possible to facilitate their meaningful involvement in their progress.
About you:
* You have experience of supporting therapy programmes (as an assistant or other relevant role).
* You have experience of Continuing Professional Development.
* You have experience of working in specialist education.
* You have the ability to relate well to parents and carers.
* You are funny, energetic and have similar interests to this person.
* You like to be active and keep fit as a lot of the activities we do include running, jumping and climbing.
* You are understanding and accepting of people's differences.
* You have patience and understanding when engagement is not possible.
* You are open to approaching things differently and taking the lead of the person.
* You are patient when it comes to building a connection, taking things slowly and learning from others in the team. This may take some time and that's ok.
* You have Internet access skills and basic knowledge of Microsoft Office applications such as Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
* You can drive and have access to a vehicle so lots of activities can be accessed.

* You have experiences and training relevant to work with neurodivergent children who experience anxieties.
