With operations across the globe and an ever-expanding customer base, this prestigious manufacturer is looking for a Cost Engineer to lead within the Procurement/Finance team. The company offers opportunities for internal and external training to develop your skills, as well as career progression within the organization.
Role & Responsibilities:
1. Responsible for maintaining the integrity of plant production costing and accuracy to ensure management receives clear and accurate data for strategic decisions.
2. Execute various tasks related to current cost rates/inventory valuation and timely resolution of errors.
3. Prepare relevant costing information and analyses for operational management.
4. Maintain production cost controlling processes at SKU level, including production orders by all components (RM, speeds, wastes, etc.).
5. Deal with operations KPI controlling on a frequent basis, comparing actual performance against standards/targets.
6. Control and update the Bills of Materials and Master data to ensure accurate costs, meticulously reviewing costs for discrepancies.
7. Prepare pre- and post-calculation analysis with advice on areas for improvement.
8. Update standard costs and monitor inventory levels (including stocktaking).
9. Regularly report defined operational key figures (e.g., waste, efficiency) and develop related measurement systems/processes.
10. Develop decision-making bases, creating and improving existing analytical tools & systems (e.g., cost analysis, PMDB).
11. Assist with financial month-end closing activities (e.g., inventory valuation, management information systems, cockpit).
12. Support the commercial/pricing team with accurate costing.
13. Collaborate closely with the local operations manager, providing transparent analysis and identifying areas for improvement.
14. Support new product development and optimizations in costing areas.
15. Assist with the annual budgeting process and forecasts.
16. Ensure controls according to the internal control system (CSA) and Sarbanes-Oxley Act (SOX).
Knowledge, Skills & Experience:
1. MUST HAVE experience working as a Cost Engineer within a manufacturing business.
2. A degree in Finance, Supply Chain, Purchasing, or a similar discipline is required.
3. SAP preferred or experience with other manufacturing ERP systems; experience with SAP will be beneficial as the business rolls out a new SAP program next year.
4. Advanced Excel skills.
5. Strong knowledge of CO (Product Cost Controlling) / MM modules in SAP.
6. Knowledge of production costing, including cost elements, cost centre accounting, material routine, bills of materials, production processes, and production order settlement.
7. Ability to manage multiple priorities and thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
