Hello, I’m Kate, a 33-year-old powerchair user, and I’m looking for a passionate, proactive female personal assistant to join my team. The role involves 8 hours of work per week, spread across Saturdays and Sundays, with two possible shifts on a rota: 08:00am – 12:00 noon or 17:00 – 21:00. There are also opportunities to pick up extra hours when cover is required.
My personal care routine, which includes assistance with showers, toileting, and transfers (using a hoist – full training provided), is a key part of the role. On some weekends, we may head out for shopping trips or tackle household chores. You must be a confident cook, as meal preparation will be part of the job.
As I have a canine assistance dog, you must be comfortable with dogs and willing to help clean up after her when needed. While I currently live in temporary accommodation in Elswick, I plan to move in the future.
Outside of my daily routine, I love spending time at the polytunnel, going for dog walks, and exploring my creative side through art. If you’re proactive, quick-thinking, calm, and enjoy spending time outdoors, we’ll make a great team.
This role is about supporting me to live independently, and I’m looking for someone who shares a passion for making each day both productive and enjoyable.
If this sounds like something you’d love to be part of, I’d be thrilled to hear from you!
