We have an exciting opportunity for a senior Support Worker to join our friendly and experienced specialist brain injury and neurological care service in Newmains, Wishaw.
We provide individualised assessment and intensive rehabilitation to help people recover from a brain injury. At all times we work to achieve the best possible outcomes in terms of independence and quality of life.
Murdostoun Brain Injury Rehabilitation Centre provides specialist care for up to 46 residents at any one time.
We have a minibus for appointments and some fun outings and a state-of-the-art therapy pool, which allows our residents to focus on re-gaining cognitive abilities that may have been lost. A specially designed therapy kitchen allows users to learn new skills that will serve them long after they have left our care. We also have a gymnasium where all residents are encouraged to keep themselves active and socialise with others.
We are extremely proud to be accredited as an approved provider of specialist Brain Injury Care by the Headway Brain Injury Association.
What you'll be working:

What you'll be doing:
1. Supporting our clients with daily activities
2. Effectively lead the shift by ensuring appropriate staffing levels are maintained at all times.
3. Supporting their care plans to establish routine
4. Ensure that all service users have up-to-date risk assessments and person centered plans in place and review and update as required with the service manager
5. Ensure the client feels safe, and stable within their day to day care
6. Personal Care*
7. Cover all aspects of the support worker role as and when required to work on the floors in order to meet the needs of the service.
8. Responsible for attending and completing all mandatory training.
9. Administrating medication (if required)
10. Support service users with physical disabilities using trained techniques and aids hoists, wheelchairs, modified bathing equipment
What you'll have:
11. Strong organisational, time management, planning and communication skills.
12. Flexible, professional, and positive approach to multi-site working.
13. Level 3 NVQ or QCF Diploma in Health & Social Care or be willing to work towards.
14. Proven reliability in terms of full attendance and timekeeping.
15. Ability to work as part of a team and as an individual.
16. Self-confidence and ability to manage challenging situations
17. Driving License would be preferable
18. Ability to address and respond to employee issues in a fair and consistent manner.
19. Successful candidates will be required to undergo an Enhanced DBS
