Job Description
The salary for this role is £26,156, and onsite working is expected for 3 days a week. However, we do offer flexible working opportunities.
This role is based at the following site; Culham, Oxfordshire.
This role requires employees to complete an online Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS), including The Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) checks for criminal convictions.
The Role

As People & Culture Department Administrator, you will play a pivotal role in providing administrative and organisational support to the Director of People and Culture and the Head of Fusion Skills (and the wider Department) and organising meetings on their behalf. You will also act as the first point of contact for any general queries and resolving problems or escalating as required. Furthermore, you will monitor and follow-up on People and Culture Department and Fusion Skills activities (such as updating the Department’s Information Asset Register), as well as arranging UK and international travel and accommodation for the department, following UKAEA processes and procedures such as making taxi bookings for visitors, visit notices etc as required. Also, the role holder will organise the People and Culture Department and Foster Programme Team activities, meetings and away days, supporting with arrangements for onsite meetings: preparing agendas, minute taking and making catering arrangements where necessary.
Additional Responsibilities:
* Support with the new starters onboarding processes for People and Culture Department and Foster Programme new starters, ensuring the New Starter Checklist is followed, completing Form 70s, ordering IT equipment etc.
* Order and distribute stationery or other purchases required for the People and Culture Department and Foster Programme.
* Assist with departmental general and apprentice recruitment activity where needed, including setting up placeholders for interviews, booking meeting rooms and preparing them ready for interview, greeting candidates and panel members, performing ID checks, facilitating assessments.
* Support the wider People and Culture Department and Foster Programme during busy periods with administration and coordination.
Qualifications
Essential Requirements:
* Administration experience within a busy environment
* Excellent customer service skills
* Excellent IT skills (especially Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint
* Ability to treat sensitive data appropriately and with discretion
* Excellent organisational and communication skills
* Good accuracy and attention to detail
