Our Centre for Excellence in Learning and Teaching (CELT) is the heart of learning and teaching at Arden University, developing and supporting staff in Academic Schools and Faculties to develop and deliver excellent educational experiences at every opportunity.
About the Opportunity:
We are looking for a Senior Lecturer – Curriculum & Assessment Development to lead on initiatives that enhance curriculum design, assessment practices, and student learning experiences. Reporting to the Head of Assessment, you will drive assessment and curriculum innovation across the university, working closely with academic and professional services teams. You will:
* Lead curriculum and assessment enhancement projects, aligning with university policies and sector best practices.
* Identify, design, and implement improvements in assessment strategies, ensuring fairness, inclusivity, and effectiveness.
* Collaborate with senior academic leaders, influencing curriculum and assessment strategies across faculties.
* Analyse student performance data to develop evidence-based recommendations for academic enhancement.
* Deliver workshops, training, and guidance to academic staff on best practices in curriculum and assessment design.
* Ensure compliance with quality assurance processes and support institutional assessment strategies.
About You:
To be successful in the role you will need to have:
* Extensive knowledge of Higher Education curriculum and assessment practices.
* A significant and successful track record of making changes in assessment and curriculum design.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with Arden students and staff.
* Experience of working with senior leadership, influencing change, and managing expectations.
* Data analysis skills, using performance metrics to inform strategic decision-making.
* Senior Fellowship of the Higher Education Academy (SFHEA) – this is essential for the role.
