Your role and responsibilities The Enterprise Transaction Systems and Integration (ETS&I) department is looking for apprentice software developers and software testers with a real passion for creating solutions to enable enterprise customers to solve business problems. The right candidates will be valued members of the Hursley team and will closely work within a multi-disciplined squad, in a design led and agile environment, to deliver world class quality product enhancements. Software development continues to rapidly transform across the industry and the right candidates will want to actively engage in these improvements and will get the opportunity to help take a highly successful product suite to the next level. All team members are expected to engage in every aspect of the product development lifecycle and develop, test and support products and maintain and automate secure delivery pipelines. The successful candidates will want to grow their software programming/engineering and problem-solving abilities. They will work with mentors and different teams within the organisation to successfully pass their apprenticeship and gain valuable technical skills. The portfolio includes several transaction products (the most long standing of which is CICS Transaction Server, often called simply CICS, is a powerful, mixed-language application server that runs on the IBM Z mainframe and operating system called z/OS) along with a growing number of other products that provide integration between IBM Z and other platforms. Your Apprenticeship As a Digital and Technology Solutions Degree apprentice, you will develop a broad range of technical and business skills, including information systems, systems development, data, business organisations, project management and computer & network infrastructure. You will also take modules to develop your skills in a technical specialism. There's an opportunity to experience University life and meet apprentices from other organisations during days at university and interactive learning sessions. As a Digital and Technology Solutions Degree apprentice you will be asked to provide your preferences for a specialism when you complete your application form.
