Job Title: Employment Lawyer (24 Month FTC) – HR Legal, Legal & Secretariat Function
Salary: £84,186 - £93,540
Location: Edinburgh, Halifax or Leeds
Hours: Full Time / Part time min 4 days a week
Working Pattern: Our work style is hybrid which involves spending at least 2 days, or 40% of our time in one of our office sites.

Join the HR Legal team within Group Legal to support the People & Places Function and our wider LBG businesses, supporting those who support our customers.
Here's how you'll make the difference in this exciting role:
* Proactively identify and manage key employment legal risks and their implications for LBG to support the business with pragmatic, solution-focused advice.
* Rapidly switch between different issues and priorities.
* Handle your own workload while working across teams.
* Support the senior lawyers in the team and the Head of HR Legal to ensure appropriate cover according to team and business needs.
* Share knowledge across the team and continually develop your skills.
* Support the team’s initiative to provide training to the People team on relevant legal topics.
More broadly, you’ll:
* Support strategic activities of the Legal & Secretariat Function which align to LBG's purpose, strategy and culture.
* Demonstrate our values and behaviours to support our culture.
* Build and maintain a strong internal network and key customer and colleague connections.

What you'll need
* Legally qualified with 6+ years' PQE and skills in a broad range of contentious and non-contentious employment law matters, gained ideally in an established in-house legal team or a leading private practice firm.
* Employment Tribunal case management experience.
* Strong commercial awareness and an ability to build deep customer relationships with a customer-focused approach.
* A growth mindset, curious to learn and develop to acquire the skills of the future.
* Desire to develop your internal personal profile and network, including within Legal & Secretariat and with business customers.
