Property Underwriter – Home Based or Hybrid in Colchester – ARD1065123
We’re on the hunt for a talented Property Underwriter to join our growing team. In this role, you will focus on delivering an outstanding service and helping our brokers sell to their end consumer with our compelling offering.
As the UK Commercial MGA for Ardonagh Advisory; a Gold rated Investor in Customer insurance business Geo specialise in Agriculture, Construction, Property, Liability, Marine and Protection lines.
So, what does the role of a Property Underwriter here involve?
As a Property Underwriter you will provide a pivotal role in assessing and evaluating risks, managing portfolios, and driving underwriting results. Your responsibilities include:
* Underwrite and administer risks (including new and existing business as well as midterm adjustments) and issue accurate, compliant documentation on behalf of Insurers.
* Demonstrate strong trading and negotiation skills in the attainment of new business.
* Achieve any individual targets and contribute towards team/business targets.
* Collaborate with brokers and clients to gather necessary and accurate information to provide risk evaluation.
* Develop and maintain strong professional relationships with all key stakeholders, including brokers, insurers and industry experts.
* To clearly demonstrate strong trading, sales, and negotiation skills in the attainment of new and renewal business.
* Rate renewals, issue and communicate effectively with our regional brokers to ensure we retain and secure cases/renewals.
* Review cases, and if we are required to place elsewhere or improve profitability, explore solutions and present back with options.
* Deal with any mid-term adjustments on existing policies.
What experience does a Property Underwriter need?
* Experience working in a broker environment.
* Competent in Landlords Property Owner’s products.
* Extensive underwriting knowledge, ability, and experience.
* Experience working with Acturis software desirable.
* Understanding of the use of binder guidelines and authorities, and underwriting process and standards.
* Strong analytical skills.
