The Role
We are looking for highly skilled and experienced Chargehands (Level 3-4) to lead and supervise a small team of operatives in a safe and efficient manner. As a Chargehand, your responsibilities will include:
* Ordering necessary plant and materials
* Interpreting utility plans, construction drawings, and plans
* Ensuring that team members follow RAMS (Risk Assessments and Method Statements) and adhere to safe working practices
* Completing site records and conducting daily safety briefings
* Reporting accidents, injuries, incidents, near misses, and damage to plant/equipment to management promptly.
About You:
We are seeking candidates who possess the following qualities and qualifications:
* Strong awareness of health and safety practices
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* Ability to motivate and manage a team, recognizing individual strengths and weaknesses
* Resilience and preparedness for working outdoors in various weather conditions
* A valid driving licence with experience driving 3.5t and 7.5t vehicles (licence dependent)
* Holding a valid CSCS card
* NRSWA qualification
* SSSTS qualification (desirable but not essential)
* Confidence in managing confrontational situations with members of the public
* Basic IT skills, including proficiency with tablet-based systems for work-related information, timesheets, and email communication.

Salary: £39,117 - £40,436 (dependant on experience)
Working Hours: 45 hour working week (Monday To Friday, weekend working where needed, and also some night working as and when) Overtime available
Contract Type: Permanent
Base: Working on sites across Cornwall and or Plymouth
